Doç. Dr. S. Giray VELİOĞLU
Board Member / General Manager

A graduate of Robert College, Department of Civil Engineering in 1971, he received his Master's Degree in Civil Engineering from Boğaziçi University and completed his doctorate in Environmental Engineering at the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana in 1976. He started his academic career in 1976 in Middle East Technical University, Department of Environmental Engineering, followed by Boğaziçi University, Department of Civil Engineering between 1977 and 1982, and then Yarmouk University, Jordan, between 1982 and 1986; followed by the Jordan University of Science and Technology from 1986 to 1987, and the Civil Engineering Department of the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, in Saudi Arabia. After an academic career spanning some 13 years, he joined Yapı Kredi Sigorta in 1989 as the Risk Engineering Manager and has been the General Manager and a Board Member at Yapı Kredi Emeklilik since 1 March 1997. As of 1 May 2009, Mr. Velioğlu has been assigned as the General Manager of Yapı Kredi Sigorta and Executive Director of Yapı Kredi Emeklilik.

Banu Darcan graduated from the Department of Industrial Engineering of Istanbul Technical University, Faculty of Management in 1987. Ms Darcan, who started her career in 1990 as assistant expert with Halk Yaşam A.Ş., joined Yapı Kredi Insurance as Group President in 2001. She has been Assistant General Manager since June 2004.

Coşkun Gölpınar graduated from the Architecture Department of Yıldız Technical University, Faculty of Architecture. He started his career in 1984 as an architect with Koçtaş Tic. A.Ş. before joining Akbank in 1986. He moved to Yapı Kredi Insurance Risk Engineering Department in 1987 and then served Yapı Kredi Insurance in various departments. He became Assistant General Manager in 1996.

İlkay Özel has graduated from Marmara University, Economics and Administrative Sciences Faculty in 1994. Ms. Özel has started her carreer in Deloitte and Touche as a Senior Auditor in 1994. After Deloitte and Touche, between the years 1997-2001 she worked for Finansbank and Finansbank Holland as a Financial Control Manager. In 2001, Ms. Özel has joined Yapı Kredi Bank as the Head of Planning and Control Unit, and between 2006-2009 she has been assigned as the Head of HR Management and Planning Unit. Ms. İlkay Özel has been Assistant General Manager of Yapı Kredi Insurance since April 2009.

He has started his career in 1991 at Southern Region of Yapı Kredi Insurance, afterwards he has proceeded his career as the Manager of different departments as Internal Audit, Financial Reporting, Bursa Region, Aegean Region. Türe has been working as Regions Group Manager Responsible for the Regions at Yapı Kredi Insurance from July 2001 until July 2009. He has been appointed as Assistant General Manager responsible for Agencies and Regions in July 2009.

Selim Fenercioğlu graduated at Bogazici University, Business Administration in 1986. He has started his career as Internal Audit Specialist at Nasas Aluminum Company in 1986. Afterwards he continued his career at Fire Underwriting Department of Yapı Kredi Insurance. Beginning from February 1994 to September 2005, he has proceeded his career as a Consultant at Reinsurance Department. Fenercioğlu has been appointed as Assistant General Manager (Acting) responsible for Non-Health Underwriting on July 2009.
